Couples Therapy

Two beings working together

Couples are different people with different bodies and different life experiences, who are working together.  This is an incredibly challenging task! Finding a meeting place that reminds you of your connection, as well as a place to heal wounds, is helpful to repair and to grow.  I hope to facilitate this process in a safe, respectful space, where all people are heard, seen, respected and understood. I use a combination of: Emotionally Focused Therapy, Family Systems, Internal Family Systems, Somatic Experiencing and Gottman.

Couples therapy can be extremely helpful in the early stages of a relationships, to strengthen communication, connection and resolve patterns prior to them becoming ingrained.

“I define connection as the energy that exists between people when they feel seen, heard and valued; when they can give and receive without judgement; and when they derive sustenance and strength from the relationship. ”

— Brené Brown

I welcome ALL couples into my practice including polyamorous, LGBTQ2S+.

Couples therapy could help with:

Communication challenges
Feeling stuck in a pattern of conflict
Infidelity/nonconsensual non-monogamy
Separation support
Life Transitions
Relationship Transitions
Co-parenting
Feeling disconnected from each other

Love Rests on two Pillars: surrender and autonomy. Our need for togetherness exists alongside our need for separateness.
